circular, the micromosaic lid panel representing the Temple of Vesta at Tivoli, within a gold border stamped with an acanthus pattern on finely-reeded ground, the earlier sides and base decorated with rose gold piqué stars scattered on an anthracite-coloured poudre d'écaille ground, tortoiseshell lining, apparently unmarked
