"The first comprehensive account of the avifauna of Holland" (Anker). At the time of its publication, this was the most expensive book for sale in Holland. Eight of the highly attractive plates show nests and eggs. The compendium was written by Cornelius Nozeman (1720-1786) was a Dutch churchman and naturalist; it was finished by Jan Christiaan Sepp (1739-1811), from the Sepp family of publishers, artists and naturalists, and Martin Houttuyn (1720-1798), who published numerous books on natural history, after Nozeman's dea💛th.
