FIRST EDITIONS, 2 works in one volume, 4to (341 x 281mm.), hand-coloured aquatint additional title, 24 hand-coloured plates, contemporary maroon half morocco over marbled boards, spine lettered in gilt, sprinkled edges, light brown endpapers, frontispiece shaved at outer margin (just touching illustration), captions of some plates cropped at lower margins (affecting captions but not affecting illustrations), light scattered foxing
Peter Charles Henderson (fl. 1791-1829) was one of the artists for Dr Thornton's famous Temple of Flora. In this ꧂work, Henderson gives instructions fo🗹r the fashionable pastime of drawing and painting flowers, depicting six different flowers for each of the four seasons of the year.
