The Croatian poet Sabo Bobaljević Mišetić (1529/30-1585) was one of a notable circle of poets and writers centered in Ragusa (Dubrovnik). This work is one of several printed by Aldo the younger♕ with links to that city, where his brother Girolamo had died in 1559 aged 17, having been sent there the previous year by his father for health reasons.
4to (204 x 144 mm). Italic type, 29 lines plus headline. collation: *4 A-Y4: 92 leaves. Woodcut Aldine device on t𓃲itle-page, first word of title in woodcut cartouche, head- and tail-pieces, decorated initials, medallion portrait of Boba𒁏ljević on *4 verso, list of books for sale on verso of final leaf. (Lightly stained.)
binding: Modern vellum (211 x🍌 155 mm), red morocco lettering-piece to spine, new endpapers.
