Urban Jürgensen is considered one of the greatest watchmakers of the 19^th cent൩ury. As a student of Breguet, tradition and harmony became key objectives when designing his own eponymous timepieꦇces.

When the Reference 3 was launched in the late 1990s, the ate🗹lier was operating under the talents of Derek Pratt and Peter Baumberger. The model is a venerable masterpiece, showing devotion to traditional craftsmanship. The guilloché dial is completed by hand and takes over two days to complete. The dial offers a harmonious and highly legible configuration showcasing the perpetual calendar, up/down and moon phases indications. The weighty platinum case is dressed with individually forged tear drop lugs, each hand polished and then soldered in an invisible fashion to the case.

The addition of the up/down indication to the original caliber FP71 base was no easy feat. Developme🎀nt took two years and an addition of 36 individual movement parts. Today the brand is helmed by the legendary ෴watchmaker Kari Voutilainen.

The present lot is offered in excellent, like new condition with a protective sticker still to the case back. Rarer still, it is almost certain that the👍 limited edition of 300 pieces was never produced in full. Scholars suggest that only between 50 – 100 Reference 3 piece🐠s were ultimately made. It is also accompanied by the original box and papers, making this a rare and highly collectible wristwatch for the refined collector.
