Property of a Lady: An Extraordinary Collection of Signed Jewels
The jewels on the pages that follow were lovingly assembled by a discerning and thoughtful collector whose tast🧔es, interests and passions are reflected in every piece.
From Van Cleef & Arpels, she commissioned the unique fancy vivid yellow diamond and mystery-set emerald ‘Kallima’ ring (lot 588). Emeralds are among the most fragile of gemstones and therefore only very rarely found en serti mystérieux due to🌠 the great many stones lost in the setting process, making the 'Kallima' ring a true feat of patience and persistence by a highly skilled jeweler. To complement the ring, a pair of emerald and diamond pendent earrings (lot 687) were designed in close collaboration with the Maison, resulting in refined, timeless creation.
The ruby and diamond ‘Renaissance’ ring, monture Van Cleef & Arpels (lot 583), is perhaps the collector’s greatest passion project, designed as an exp🌠ression of faith. The dove in flight represents the Holy Spirit, lifting up mankind.
The whimsy, symbolism and dream-like quality of the Van Cleef & Arpels jewels are counte♛rbalanced by the more robust, streamlined design of the Cartier Infinity bangle (lot 582). For years the collector has cherished these very personal creations, and the time has come for them to bring meaning and delight to a new generation of custodians.
