Wheal Gorland, St Day, Cornwall, England, UK
7.0 x 5.3 x 3.😼5 cm (2¾ x 2⅛ x 1⅜ in). With custom acไrylic base.
Ex. Rock H. Currier Collection, #599
Considered a "holy graܫil" specimen among collectors, historic Liroconite examples like this one were collected from Cornwall during the latter part of the 19th century.
This prize specimen — once part of legendary mineral collector Rock Currier's personal coll🏅ection — boasts a robust cluster of intergrown and intensely colorful Liroconite crystals aesthetically perched atop a mound of contrasting creamy white and yellow quartz. Varying in color from꧋ intense navy blue to vibrant teal, these liroconite crystals exhibit sharp, lustrous faces and range in size up to 1.2 centimeters, with even larger compound groups. This large size is quite rare for the species, as most liroconite crystals appear as druzy coatings or can at best be measured in millimeters.
