Ex. Steve Ulatowski
This significant and ext𝔍raordinary tanzanite crystal from the Merelani Hills of Tanzania is highly pleochroic, exhibiting seven different colors depending upon its orientation and light source: blue, purple, red, pink, green, yellow, and orange. The piece's crystallization is exquisitely fine𝓡, with the sharpest character and a highly mirrored surface luster.
The center of the crystal has the deeply saturated blue typical of the finest tanzanite🌠s, framed by a mint green color on both sides. The green color zones are symmetric and extend from the termination to the base of the crystal. The base itself displays a goldenrod yellow color, while the blue central area contains a strong red flash. The piece has not been artificially heated, evidenced by the dominant red tint visible when looking down its c-axis. It has a symmetric and well-formed termination and is without damage or repair. A truly first-class tanzanite specimen.
