“Being A Short Diversion On The Dubious Origins Of Beatles”— Translated from the John Lennon
“Once upon a time there were three little boys called John, George and Paul, by named christened…” John begins his origin story of the Fab Four, which was featured as a column in the Mersey Beat. “The decided to get together because they were the getting together type.” The article continues in this wonderfully whimsical fashion, talking about the tree growi🐠ng guitars and growing noise. But still “there was no beat, and a kindly old aged mad said, quote ‘Thou hast not drums!’” The story concludes with growing a Pete Best, the Beatles first drummer, who was dismissed from the band before achieving worldwide fame.
A charming tale and a scarce survival.
