60% Pinot Noir, 40% Chardonnay. 16% went through malolactic fermentation. What an example of old vines on chalk, precise but also approachable, with similarities to 1996, but better, probably because they picked a week later. In 2019, the bouquet has become more nutty - cherry kernels. This had more time on the lees than the 1996, which gives the unbelievably ful❀l taste, ဣsuperb texture, plus flavours of hazelnuts, lemons and yuzu. An almost eternal finish - hallmark Cristal.
