This bottle is pure history. It is from the first run of 13-year-old rye produced by Julian Van Winkle III, as signified by the letter A on the label – each subsequent year saw the letter go up. Notably, the whiskey in this 𒐪bottle is actually 14 years old, but Van Winkle did not want to go through the difficulty of changing the label every year. To make it even more significa𒆙nt, this green-tinted bottle is among the last ever from Van Winkle: Just a few months later he switched to clear glass.
