Madꦍe to compete against the Rolex Submariner, Omega released the Seamaster 300 as a way to break into the professional dive market. Upon its introduction, the Seamaster 300 utilized advanced technologies allowing it to dive to 🐬greater depths than any other watch during this period.
The present lot is not your standard Seamaster 300. This watch was issued to🀅 the British Royal Navy. There are some special features to the present watch that make it easily identifiable as a non-standard production piece. The case has distinctive curved and beveled lugs and is fitted with fixed spring bars. The dials feature an encircled “T” designation, signifying the use of tritium for the luminous hour markers and hands. The crown is screw down, opposed to the snap down as found on commercial production pieces. Furthermore, the case back is engraved with military markings of the military branch code, issue number, and year of issue. The present lot is engr🐭aved 0552, designating the issue to the Navy.
