Launched in 2010, the Submariner ref. 116610LV marked a significant departure from tradition as the first stainless steel Submariner without a black dial. Produced until 2020, it quickly gained fame as the "Hulk" due to its vibrant sunburst green dial and matching green Cerachrom bezel, reminiscent of the iconic Marvel superhero. Beyond its striking appearance, the Hulk introduced Rolex's new Maxi-case design, featuring thicker lugs and a he♐avier case compared to its predecessor, the discontinued ref. 16610LV. This moder♛nized design, coupled with its bold colors, ushered in a new era for Rolex dive watches. The Hulk swiftly earned legendary status as a sought-after variant of the Submariner, remaining highly desirable even after its discontinuation.

To further add to the desirability of the present example, it is distinguished by a Khanjar emblem, engraved on its case back. Watches bearing this emblem are exceptionally rare and highly coveted by collectors worldwide. Known as 'Khanjar' watches, they were specially commissioned by His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said al Said of Oman.
