Nicknamed the Grand Calatrava Etanche, reference 565 stands as Patek Philippe's first venture into waterproof wristwatches. Launched in 1938, its 35 mm diameter was deemed substantial for its time. Tai🐭lored to meet the burgeoning interest in outdoor activities, the case was made in two parts, featuring a screw back and an additional dust cover. The cover provided protection against both humidity and dust. Notably, the two-part case with a protective cap was made by Taubert, a renowned manufacturer of waterproof cases since the late 19th century. Taubert also supplied cases for other significant Patek Philippe models, including the revered reference 1463 and 96A. 

Produced until 1952, the pr🌺esent timepiece boasts an 18k pink gold case featuring a si🐷lvered dial, and was recently serviced by Patek Philippe in November 2023.
