Founded in 1980 by the Italian Carlo Crocco, Hublot has made a name for itself as a master of materials and marrying Swiss technical 🦩prowess with unconventional designs. Under the direction of legendary watch veteran Jean-Claude Biver, the brand pushed into innovative materials like ceramic, and their ‘magic-gold’ alloy. The present watch, the Spirit of Big Bang, features a case crafted of sapphire crystal. Polished to a high sheen, this created a unique transparent look for the entire watch. Not just a master of materials, this Hublot Spirit of Big Bang also features the high-beat HUB4700 caliber, which is based on the widely lauded Zenith El Primero chronograph movement. As beautiful as the sapphire case is, it’s a difficult material to work with, which is why the resulting model presented here was produced in a limited edition of just 200 pieces worldwide.
