In recent years, this military timepiece, alongside Breguet’s Type XX and Zenith Cairelli models, has captivated the attention of avid watch collectors.Lemania, renowned for its chronograph movements, boasts a strong legacy as a seasoned movement manufacturer. Originating in the early 1970s, the present lot was specifically manufactured for the Swedish Air Force, mostly adorning the wrists of pilots flying the esteemed Saab 37 Viggen fighter jet. Hence, it acquired the official nickname “Viggen”, which translates as “Thunderbolt”💎. Approximately 400 pieces were commissioned, with the current piece bearing the hand-engraved number ‘046’ between the bottom lugs. The military provenance can be further verified on the case back where the "Tre Kronor" - the three crowns - are engraved, a hallmark commonly found on Swedish military timepieces.
