Georges Fouquet
The three🌼 generations of the Parisian♊ Fouquet family, Alphonse (1828-1911), Georges (1862-1957) and Jean (1899-1984), each adopted and excelled at prevalent design trends of their respective eras: historicism, art nouveau and art deco. George Fouquet was a leading jeweller of the art nouveau style together with the likes of Lalique, Vever and Falize. The brooch presented here is characteristically art nouveau in its choice of materials, particularly the exquisitely applied plique-à-jour enamel with reflective foil.
