Featuring a coiling chilong that gracefully curls into a roundel, this ornamental motif represents a well-established design of Dingyao ceramics during the 11th and 12th centuries. This motif is often accompanied by lotus or peony flowers, as seen in the present dish, while at other times, it can also appear as a standalone motif. Towards the 12th century, impressed versions of this design emerged, adding further variety to the repertoire. 盤心綴螭龍蜷曲，優美典雅，溫潤婉約，展現十一至十二世紀，定窰紋飾之經典傳統。定窰蟠螭紋，常見牡丹或蓮紋相伴，即如本品，亦有作為獨立紋飾者。近十二世紀時，各式模印螭龍紋飾陸續出現，更顯琳瑯滿目。相類作例，參考《定州花瓷：院藏定窰系白瓷特展》，故宮博物院，台北，2014年，編號 I﷽I-65-66、68-71、꧒106。
