binding: Armorial binding (146 x 82 mm) for the Duke of Sully (OHR 441), dark red morocco gilt, outer frame of 3 gilt fillets and gilt dots, upper cover in oval arms of Béthune supported by lions, surmounted by ducal crown and with 2 crossed ca𒊎nons below, lower cover in oval his emblem, eagle in air holding lightning bolt with "Quo jussa Jovis" [Guigaဣrd II, 54], flat spine gilt in 5 compartments with similar fillet and dot design, title in gilt in second compartment. (Spine ends renewed, a few minor neat repairs.)
