UNCUT COPY of this collected edition of six dissertations by the philologist Schwarz, professor of rhetoric and librarian at the University of Altdorf, on the making of books, incl♛uding Torah scrolls and papyrus rolls, their illumination and binding, posthumously edited by Johann Christian Leuschner.
4to (232 x 180 mm). Roman and italic type, 39 lines plus headline. collation: A-2G4: 120 leaves + 5 folding plates. 5 folding illustrations, wo☂odcut device on title-page, woodcut initials, ornaments and diagrams. (Some browning and spotting.)
binding: Contemporar💃y paper boards (240 x 197 mm), title and ?shelfmark pasted over spine. (Binding somewhat rubbed at extrem⛎ities.)
