Description

Château Cheval Blanc 2004

St. Emilion, 1er Grand Cru Classé (A)

Good levels, labels very slightly wrinkled, tissue wrapped

Vintage from 22 September to 5 October. 13.2% alcohol. 53% Cabernet Franc, 47% Merlot. This is just so vivid and so intensely vanilla. So much glycerol (a feat this year), succulence and yet freshness, which is one of the joys of this initially underestimated vintage. More recently, a really classy, blackberry🔯 nose. Chocolate velvet on the palate. Slips down, as well it should. Russian leather and liquorice. Serena Sutcliffe, MW

WA 90

3 d.mags - 3 litres (owc)
