Lange & Söhne's Saxonia collection was c💞reated to celebrate the German firm’s heritage in the state of Saxony. By introducing the Datograph in 1999, the watch is often credited as a reinvention of the chronograph as it houses an extraordinarily complex and layered calibre L951.1 that is complete with a flyback function.
Aside from its impressive architecture, the main appeal of this referenꦫce 403.031 is the harmonious and distinctive appearance that it also shares with the rest of Datograph family. However, unlike most Datographs found in the current production, the present watch is housed in a smꦬaller 39 mm pink gold case and paired with a black dial, a mature and elegant combination.
With only 2 years of production, it represents only about 10% of all firstཧ series Datographs, rende🍷ring it extremely collectible, and at the same time, a symbol of the Datograph heritage.
The present watch has had it's silvered dial replꦅaced for a black dial during the last service. For this reason, the reference was changed to 403.031 from 403.032. This change is well documented in the service paperwork and in the history of the watch booklet.
