Another earlier Pahari miniature of the Goddess Ganga, similarly depicted seated on her vahana (vehicle) a giant rohu (carp) in the midst of the holy river Ganges, is in the Philadelphia Museum of Art (Accession number 1987-52-10), gifted to the museum by Stella Kramrisch (1987). That example would be attributed to the "Early Master at the Court of Mandi" and datable to 1650-1675. That version also depicts the waters curving at t🐬he horizon line and a vibrant orange sky with the goddess holding a vessel of the sacred water and🗹 a lotus blossom - a symbol of "purity and abundance".
