The oval base chased with a band of foliage and turtles, swans, snails and snakes, with applied spider, frog and salamander, the upper section similarly decorated, the stem modelled as a mermaid applied with two ruby cabochons, supporting the turbo shell mounted with openwork scrolling bands with caryatid figures, the lip with a frieze of acanthus leaves, the cover with a pointed ovolo border and modelled as a whale swallowing Jonah on a watery ground, the inside set with a plaque engraved with a bird amongst foliage and applied with a coat-of-arms, marked on the lip of the cup and the rim of the foot with town mark and maker's mark.
