Introduced in 2003 as part of the Octa collection, the Octa Lune seamlessly integrates a poetic moon phase with practical complications—including a large date, small seconds, and power reserve indicator—into a movement that delivers an impressive five-day power reserve via a single barrel.

This partic🍸ular example, dating from circa 2008, features the desirable 40mm platinum case, introduced in the mid-2000s as a more contemporary evolution of the original 38mm format. The dial, crafted in 18K gold and finished in a refined silver tone, displays F.P. Journe’s signature off-centre layout. T♍he guilloché subdials and blued steel hands are classic hallmarks of the manufacture’s refined aesthetic.

Importantly, this watch showcases a first generation dial with the small numꦅerals for 8 and 1♛0, a detail collectors prize for its originality and charm. On later models, these numerals were enlarged—altering the visual rhythm of the dial. As such, this configuration represents a transitional and highly collectible version of the Octa Lune.
