After inaugurating the first biannual sale of Southeast Asian Art in Singapore in 1996, Soꦛtheby’s responded to the growing international demand for these works and moved the auctions to Hong Kong in 2008. The past two decades have seen the emergence of a new generation of artists from Southeast Asia, and Sotheby’s is well placed at the forefront of this market, exhibiting and promoting these regional voices.
