V&A East brings together t𝔉wo free cultural destinations — the newly opened V&A East Storehouse and V&A East Museum at the Stratford Waterfront, which is set to open in spring 2026. Both are located in London’s East Bank, the UK’s newest cultural quarter in the heart of Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.

Designed by acclaimed architects Diller, Scofidio + Renfro, V&A East Storehouse offers unprecedented access to the working storage for the V&A museums. The site houses more than 250,000 objects, 350,000 library books and nearly 1,000 archives — from The Glastonbury Festival Archive to PJ Harvey and Elton John’s costumes, vintage football shirts, Dior and Schiaparelli haute couture, Roman frescos, Samurai♌ swords, mid-century furniture and the iPhone. Visitors can go behind-the-scenes with self-guided exploration that includes experiential installations and more than 100 mini curated displays, or schedule a viewing through the “Order an Object” service. A site of activity and exchange, V&A East Storehouse will also present a dynamic program of live events, creative workshops and act༺ivities. Plus, opening in September is the David Bowie Centre at V&A East Storehouse. Home to the famed musician’s recently acquired archive, it will showcase more than 90,000 items including Bowie’s breakthrough Ziggy Stardust ensembles designed by Freddie Burretti.
