This summer Sotheby’s offers Property f꧃rom the Estate of Sir John🍷 and Lady Smith in a varied and considered collection of furniture, art and objects. The couple were vital to the preser𓆏vation of vernacular architecture and founded the Landmark Trust in 1965 to defend the historically and architecturally significant but less appreciated buildings of Britain. Their awareness and respect for the past shaped a distinctly personal collection, as reflected in Lady Smith’s jewelry, a small and niche collection of inherited and acquired pieces with a heavy slant towards Indian gems.
