Sotheby’s Hong Kong Autumn Sales started with a bang – leading the evening sale was Zao Wou-Ki’s Juin-Octobre 1985, which commanded the extraordinary price of HK$510.4 Million (US$65 Million), establishing a world auction record for a൲n oil painting by an Asian artist and doubling Zao Wou-Ki’s previous record. With this result, the work is the most valuable painting sold by any auction house in Hong Kong.
