Christopher Apostle, Senior Vice President, Head of Department, Sotheby’s New York, joined Sotheby’s in 1988 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Classical Languages and Humanities from the College of Hampden-Sydney in Virginia and having attended Sotheby’s Works of Art course in London in 1986–87 as well as Sotheby’s New York Apprentice Program.
Christopher, Head of Department in New York sinc🍌e 2000, has been instrumental in the sales of a number of the most important collections of Old Master Paintings that have come to market, including the estates of Walter P Chrysler, Wendall Cherry and Peter J Sharp and the collections of the New-York Historical Society, Jaime Ortiz-꧒Patiño,  Saul Steinberg and the Countess du Boisrouvray.
