註:本幅乃畫家抗戰時期寓居渝州時之作,具王芃生題七絕一首。
王芃生(1893-1946),湖南醴陵人,早歲加入同盟會,革命成功
後,東渡日本研習,對國際問題鑽研尤深。返國後歷任政府要
職,曾一度出使日本。他在國際問題研究上享譽盛名,但不掩在
文學上之造詣,尤以詞曲專擅,如傅抱石仕女畫經典作之〈九張機
圖冊〉,即按王芃生筆下詞意衍化為圖。
抗戰之際,他出掌軍事委員會國際問題研究所,於陪都與文藝界
交往頻仍,如傅抱石、潘伯鷹、曾克耑、喬大壯、曾紹杰等。謝
稚柳與其交情頗切,與本幅寫於相若時期的雜家〈書畫合璧冊〉即
有謝氏的芭蕉仕女及翠竹兩開,皆遵芃生之請為他人而製,若交
情泛泛,焉得致此。
本幅謂取宋人法寫沒骨牡丹,設色淡薄,筆致細膩,寫於四川生
產之連江土紙上。囿於是時客觀條件所限,土紙品質不一,纖維
寬緊厚薄欠均勻,但毋損用筆敷色的效果,反襯出在特定歷史時
空下遺留的印記!
