註：本幅乃畫家抗戰時期寓居渝州時之作，具王芃生題七絕一首。
王芃生（1893-1946），湖南醴陵人，早歲加入同盟會，革命成功
後，東渡日本研習，對國際問題鑽研尤深。返國後歷任政府要
職，曾一度出使日本。他在國際問題研究上享譽盛名，但不掩在
文學上之造詣，尤以詞曲專擅，如傅抱石仕女畫經典作之〈九張機
圖冊〉，即按王芃生筆下詞意衍化為圖。
抗戰之際，他出掌軍事委員會國際問題研究所，於陪都與文藝界
交往頻仍，如傅抱石、潘伯鷹、曾克耑、喬大壯、曾紹杰等。謝
稚柳與其交情頗切，與本幅寫於相若時期的雜家〈書畫合璧冊〉即
有謝氏的芭蕉仕女及翠竹兩開，皆遵芃生之請為他人而製，若交
情泛泛，焉得致此。
本幅謂取宋人法寫沒骨牡丹，設色淡薄，筆致細膩，寫於四川生
產之連江土紙上。囿於是時客觀條件所限，土紙品質不一，纖維
寬緊厚薄欠均勻，但毋損用筆敷色的效果，反襯出在特定歷史時
空下遺留的印記！
