款識：
右摹唐人畫行腳僧渡水，已渡而休與正濟而未及濟者、涉深水
者、老憊極少者、扶侍幾欲不濟者、有臨流未涉者、有見險在前
依石坐卧者，頗極其情狀，明窗淨几，散髮解衣，而縱觀之，亦
是幻法中無真假。往在都時，馮當世有此畫本，是古人創業縑素
也。題云：王右丞畫渡水羅漢。余為題云：阿羅漢。皆具神通，
何至拖泥帶水如此！使王右丞作羅漢畫如此，何處有王右丞耶！
時或不悅，余謂顧畫何如，豈因譽而完，因毁而破也。
芝岑仁兄大人屬。左宗棠書於賢良寺西偏健軒。
鈐印：「恪靖伯章」、「青宮少保」。

上款：「芝岑」即夏獻綸（1837-1879），江西新建人，歷任福建布
政使、船政大臣，同治十二年（1873）調任台灣道，殁於任上。
