註：一九四六年，悲鴻應教育部之聘出任北平國立藝術專科學校
校長，並計劃邀集吳作人、葉淺予、李樺、龐薰琹等任教，重振
百廢待興的校務。是年七月底，自滬乘船北上，抵秦皇島，轉乘
火車，於卅一日抵達故都。接掌校務後，既續事招邀教員，並為
物色新校址而奔走，亦積極參予當地藝術界的活動。本幅寫於「丁
亥新春」，即一九四七年一月下旬或二月初，亦悲鴻返北平後渡過
的首個春節。以擅長的奔馬入畫，喻志在千里，符合新春開歲對
前景美好的祝願。
