註:胡也佛畫風以纖巧細膩見著,尤以工筆仕女最為人稱道,其
運筆銳利,描繪細密,寫人狀物,綫條分寸拿揑準確,富裝飾效
果之餘,亦收雅俗共賞之效,在四十年代滬上畫壇別樹一幟。其
「袐戲圖」更獨步一方,人物神情動態,呈撩人春色,韻味溢於隱
現之間。閨房、庭園中陳設佈置,或飄紅葉,或墮飛絮;或透雕
窗格、或布幔紋飾,皆細緻講究,極盡筆墨刻劃之能事。或謂「難
登大雅之堂」,兼受社會環境遽變後所限,遂改赴出版系統工作,
其筆硯生涯亦告一段落。
他鬻畫維生,仕女題材向受歡迎,下筆尤勤。間及動物走獸,如
浴牛、牧馬,偶有見之。此外山水作品亦列創作範圍之一。雖云
題材有異,惟處理手法與仕女畫中之配景對照,即源出一脈,風
格統一。本幅取「巫峽雲濤」為題,狀寫舟船在雲廻風蕩,霜葉
漫天的秋深肅殺氣氛下,前赴後繼地穿峽谷、越險水,正是巴船
出峽之景象。他極注重畫面結構,全景式描寫緊湊,佈局環環相
扣,峭壁互峙,樹叢高低相倚,起伏跌宕,與虛實相濟互補的處
理,就如「祕戲圖」的佈置陳設般細謹縝密。如舟船一先一後,
在前者浮沉於洶湧波濤間,船伕掄槳以禦勢若沒項的巨浪;隨後
者則從狹窄水道轉折而出之際,船伕伸長竿支撐以免觸岩舟毁,
種種人與自然博鬥下產生活潑生動的情態,幾若真實重現跟前,
在刻劃細緻的同時兼動態神韻俱攝,正是全幅精髓所在。若論相
類題材處理,陸儼少筆下呈大氣磅礡,胡也佛則細膩綿密而盡其
神,可謂各擅勝場了!
胡氏山水極具十洲筆意,精工勾勒,設色鮮麗,復上溯宋人,並
參己意,將剛勁俐落畫風,修飾轉化為柔中含靭勁的一路。這種
種個人筆墨技法的特點在本幅中表露無遺,兼屬高度提鍊昇華後
的精萃滙聚,其傳世山水畫迹中以此為最精絕,殆無異議。畫上
無署年,按其畫風推敲,應屬四十年代中期所出。
