The canvas has been relined and the paint surface appears to be in very good condition overall. Inspection under UV reveals retouching to the canvas edges and some minor stregthening to the sitter's hat, forehead and to the hair on her right shoulder. There is also retouching to what appears to be an old repaired diagonal tear on her neck measuring approx 7cm. and to what look like two old parallel diagonal scratches measuring approx. 5cm. from the sitter's right cheek. Offered in a elaborate gilt carved wood and plaster frame.
