Condition
There are three chips on the rim, one with an associated hairline crack approximately 2 in. (5.1 cm) long and an additional hairline crack approximately 2 1/2 in. (6.4 cm) long running from the rim. There are numerous chips under the glaze and the expected wear to the surface.

Green ground biscuit forms are unusual; there are some bowls of this type but dishes are very rare. A dish very similar to the present example is illustrated in Sir Michael Butler et al, Seventeenth Century Chinese Porcelain from the Butler Family Collection, Alexandria VA, 1990, p. 180, no. 124.
