平生為愛此香濃,仰面常迎落架風;
每至春歸有遺恨,典刑猶在酒杯中。
韓持國〈酴醿〉絕句,世盛稱之,並錄於此,與茫父先生共
賞。衡恪。

何如此老山中住,步出柴門閑看雲。
茫父四十生日,邀予至其齋中閑話,並索畫此扇,以志契

上款:「茫父」即姚華(1876-1930),字重光,貴州貴築人。光緒
三十年(1904)甲辰科進士。曾留學日本,入東京大學速成科。返
國後,先後任職教育部,亦講學於北平多所院校。他博學多才,
擅詞曲詩文,精研碑版古器,復擅書畫,名噪京華藝壇。
註:陳師曾與姚茫父同生於一八七六年,彼此曾負笈東瀛,入民
國後,同供職教育部,有仝事之誼。他們皆擅詩文,對書畫藝術
旨趣相投,時相往還切磋畫藝,復賦詩酬唱,或互為題跋,又或
合作繪畫,且共同參與各種文藝團體,在民國初年北平畫壇居領
導地位,並稱「姚陳」。
他們交情篤厚,互為推許對方之藝術造詣。本幅即陳氏寫賀姚華
四十誕辰。畫上無署年,按茫父生辰推敲,應在一九一五年四月
間。題詩首句與遺集所載稍有出入,集中曰「四十浮沉」,本幅則
為「四十蹉跎」,循此可知原詩之初貌。「四十蹉跎我似君」句,
指涉者非拘限於同齡,實謂兩人背景、經歷、藝事取向皆趨近,
相知之深,溢於意表。此作有別於慣見之一字一畫相配,卻以山
水、花卉分據兩面,一設色,一淨墨;一錄長題宋人韓維咏荼蘼
絕句,一書賀茫父四十壽七絕,佈置刻意,極見用心,亦誌「契
合」之意!
