上款：「嘯雲」或為趙嘯雲，生平未詳。按任氏傳世畫迹具此上
款者，計有一八八三年〈幽篁獨坐圖〉（現藏浙江省博物館），另幅
一八九○年〈赤壁泛舟〉紈扇面（現藏南京博物院），稱謂皆尊曰「老
伯大人」，稍別本幅之「社長先生」，但自謙曰「後學」，則恭敬如
一，或為同一人而作。

註：歲朝清供乃海派畫家擅取題材之一，也是諸家合作筆下常見
者。內容多以歲時花卉、菓品為主，伴以盆盂插瓶，並配各文玩
擺設，組合如何，則按畫家構思，或據受贈者之要求及背景而生
變化。任伯年鬻畫滬上，對此流行題材，當屢受囑而製。本幅寫
於其畫藝大盛之期，畫中見水仙盈盆，置於矮几上；前有香椽滿
筐，碩大豐滿如金菓叠堆；背靠畫瓶，內插卷軸，直是清幽熱鬧
合置，復添書香繚繞。若見題曰「嘯雲社長」，可窺測受者或囑畫
者，似屬詩社或畫會領袖人物，皆文壇中人，故伯年構圖如此，
皆與背景貼切。其用筆見圓轉老練，捨慣見之尖銳利削綫條。設
色則取沉穩，較趨內歛含蓄，偏向文人欣賞的雅淡品味。可謂因
人成畫，反映了任氏創作之多變性。
