少有畫名，尤善版畫。抗日期間在軍中從事軍政、美術工作。
四九年後曾任上海人民美術出版社副總編輯、上海畫院祕書長、
上海書畫出版社顧問，在藝壇交誼甚廣，所獲貽贈頗多。
