註：賀天健寫畫，以氣慨勝，以佈局勝，以設色豐富、筆法多變勝，自號「開天天樓」，豪邁之氣實與畫藝精湛相埒。本幅寫於畫家將屆古稀之年，謂「用衡山設色法」，乃借託古人實行己法，上述諸端俱聚焦於此。

畫中構圖取犄角相峙之勢，巨峰巍聳，下俯松林一角，雲氣迴盪斷隔其間，畫面頓生輕重、寬緊均衡相濟之效。山體淡墨敷底，上罩青綠，層層加色，輪廓以披麻皴為主，參以方折之筆，凸出塊面，復以色點苔，色彩變化多端，層次豐富，全畫設色構圖，無涉「吳門畫風」，更牽扯不及文衡山，純然賀天健開天闢地之奇功也！
