註：北樓先生臨古功力湛深，上溯宋元，下迄明清，工筆、寫意兼擅，書法亦逼真肖似，見亂真之妙。本幅臨陳道復之〈叢菊竹石圖〉，原畫題跋落款俱備，屬對臨本。圖中運筆縱放飄逸，如竹葉撇劃灑脫俐落，菊花勾勒細緻而無拘束之態，湖石敷墨乾濕濃淡交叠，三者合置，既攝物態之真貌，又不失白陽原畫之放逸韻致，純得力於畫家對前賢技法浸淫透徹，復加個人筆墨變化之精微。整幅裝裱典雅大方，裱綾配色協調，兼具畫家親署簽條，可知出自「墨茶閣」當年原裱。
