註：高劍父早年留學東瀛，畫風深受明治末期至大正初期活躍在京都畫壇畫家的影響，其中以竹內栖鳳（1864－1942）為最。本幅寫獅吼，無年款，但技法熟練，似屬三十年代作品，仍流露受竹內氏影響之痕跡。畫中主體之神情姿態，劍父以至其弟奇峰亦移用於其他作品中，皆與當年日本習藝時借鑒對象有關。
