上款：「定山」即著名書畫家陳定山（1897-1987）。
註：陳定山書畫詩文皆擅，早歲已名噪滬上文化界，與湖帆先生過從密切。湖帆甚推重其詩藝，曾謂兩人「交至厚，得其益不淺，真益友也。余詩本甚勉強，小蜨見余窘狀，仍援筆代余步韻，一揮而就，倚馬千言……」。
〈夏日山居圖〉，與〈青卞隱居圖〉、〈林泉清集圖〉俱黃鶴山樵筆下精品，呈鼎足之勢。民國時期，入虛齋所藏。湖帆先生或借觀於龐氏，遂擬之贈藝友。他消融巨幛，轉化入扇面方寸天地間。前景置密松交叠，後蔭重巒，旁有溪岸曲折蜿延，直通遠山。其境疏密相間，寬緊有致，運筆細膩綿密，卻無繁瑣之弊，用墨非厚積濃重，見蒼潤，不淪輕薄，洵屬技法成熟時期對王蒙畫藝理解後之重現。
