-Light foxing can be found along the upper left and top edges, which can be improved by restoration. Otherwise, generally in good condition.

註：一九六八年初，大千先生率家人赴台，逗留竟月。期間，造訪時為軍事要地之金門，慰問防區官兵，並即場示範作畫，當日即返台北。本幅乃此行所寫，獲贈者乃金門駐軍將領之子。
畫中所題乃大滌子句。先生在另幅〈黃菊〉亦錄此詩，並謂「畫自是畫，詩自是詩，各不相干，切莫沾滯」。惟本幅寫菊，如長枝斜垂，從上而下伸出，與菊花生長姿態迥異，直似野藤蜷纏，恰好與「誤作枯藤纏數花」對應。可知畫家以扭轉乾坤之筆，自出機杼寫之，非一時之誤。
