Condition
Accompanied by SSEF report no. 55910, dated 18 March 2010, stating that the oval sapphire weighing approximately 25 carats and measuring approximately 18.75 x 14.50 x 10.25mm, is of Ceylon origin, with no indications of heating.
Sapphire blue of medium strong saturation, with minor inclusions visible under 10 x magnification, some surface reaching, abrasions and nicks consistent with age and normal use; for further details on the stone, please refer to the gemmological report. Diamonds estimated to weigh a total of approximately 3.50 - 4.00 carats, on average H-I colour, VS-SI clarity (a few I), as gauged and graded in the mount. Signs of normal wear and tarnish to the metal consistent with age and use. Brooch fitting detachable, the jewel can also be worn as a clasp. In good condition.
