註：本幅未有標明入圖之景，畫家同年參加長征路線寫生訪問團，汲取民間生活實貌及地理特徵，作為日後創作長征畫卷之素材。故畫中似取景自西北丘陵起伏之地，見河道曲折盤旋，騾群負木，沿河結伴，排列而行，應運送供建設之材料。即使僻遠如西北貧瘠之地，亦響應新社會中大興土木、廣肆建設之號召，與當年行軍涉險，艱難萬狀，有天壤之別！
