雁蕩大龍湫為淛東最大之瀑布。此係正面，由湫前一嶺上瞭望，才可得其全，否則其上之來源不易見也。噴雪撒霜，摶煙飛珠，有如銀河倒流，白虹下顧，然亦未足以擬其十一也。乙亥夏，賀天健。

鈐印：「天健長壽」。

註：賀天健筆下山水剛勁雄健、神完氣足，構圖奇險，本幅寫於壯年時期，是時作品乃尚力、尚巧、尚畫功之顯示，嘗試將所游山水揉合古法中。畫中高士從山腳小徑入圖，扶杖登山，昂首仰望，白練自嶺上飛流直下，層巖旁立，無論山石皴法，抑或礬頭樹木，筆筆沉著結實，寸草片木，亦絲毫無弱象，僅飾紅葉片雲，作點綴畫面之用。瀑旁山嵐，捲起浪花雲氣，高士白衣線條飄逸，如禦風而行，畫家自題「噴雪撒霜，摶煙飛珠」之景，盡現於此。

〈大龍湫圖〉畫意平實近人，畫境卻奇詭巧險，恰好對照畫家所言，其畫人人可看懂，卻無人可畫出！
