上款：「小林同志」即林忠世，其父於二次大戰時服役英國皇家空軍，與宋慶齡及廖承志等關係密切。他幼年返中國，畢業於北京醫學院，精於針灸。七十年代中期，廖承志親函英國著名漢學家李約瑟，推薦林氏赴劍橋深造。他編有英文針炙著作，封面即由黃冑作畫。
