上款：「亦鶴」或為王亦鶴，廣東人。民國初年曾擔任中華書局廣州分局經理兼編輯，著有〈中國歷朝沿革表解〉。好詩，與胡漢民、汪精衛等發起「惜餘吟社」，活躍於粵中詩壇，與梁啟超亦為深交。

一九二八年，黃賓老應邀赴桂林講學，回程途中，經穗，與粵籍文藝界友人聚晤，本聯應為是時所寫。
