一九三九年，高奇峰先生義女張坤儀，親攜一批高氏墨迹經香港赴美。抵美國後，先後在北美、歐洲等地舉辦高氏及其作品聯展。該批作品包括山水、花卉、翎毛走獸等，堪稱海外最為重要的嶺南畫派代表作。本幅即其一，後轉歸美國劉榮蕭氏，畫背具張坤儀署簽題贈。

-Light foxing can be found in the lower section of the painting, which can be improved by restoration. Otherwise, generally in good condition.

註：高、陳二人同屬嶺南派代表人物，亦為革命同道，無論藝術以至人生志向相近，交誼甚切，常切磋畫藝，合繪花鳥。見諸本幅，畫面清簡疏朗，筆調舒揚，未署年，若參考一九三二年於國難共濟會書畫展中合作展品〈丹心〉，畫風以至材質尺幅，與本幅類近，或為相約時間所寫。
